Bake the bread slices at 350F for 5 minutes on one side and 2 minutes on the other side.
We want the bread to resemble rusk or a well-done toast. Our baked bread will replace the traditional ladyfingers.
Whisk together matcha and 1 cup hot water.
Dunk the baked bread into the matcha liquid and assemble a base layer in a casserole or a baking dish.
Top it with generous amounts of shrikhand. Here shrikhand is replacing the mascarpone but will be just as luscious.
Repeat the bread and shrikhand layers twice more.
Dust the topmost layer of shrikhand with matcha powder. Let it chill for a couple of hours and then serve.
